Overview of the Goethe A2 Speaking Test (Sprechen)

In Part 2, you draw a card with a topic (e.g., 'Mein Wochenende', 'Mein Lieblingsessen', 'Mein Urlaub') and several bullet prompts. You speak continuously for about one minute describing your habits and experiences, then answer a follow-up question from the examiner.
Part 3: Negotiating and Planning Together (Gemeinsam etwas planen)
In Part 3, you and your partner organize an activity together (e.g., buying a birthday gift, planning a weekend trip, or arranging a study meeting). You must make suggestions, react to your partner's proposals, negotiate a compromise, and agree on details.

Is there preparation time before the A2 speaking test?
No, at level A2 there is no separate preparation room or time before the speaking test. Prompt cards are handed to you during the exam, and you respond directly in front of the examiners.
